VG Project Manager Provides Certification System Overview for USGBC-CA Article
Karina Balekjian, a Associate Project Manager I at Verdical Group, recently wrote a piece for U.S. Green Building Council California (USGBC-CA) on the history of LEED and the current green building certification market.
In the article, she shares how the green building movement evolved from primarily just LEED’s initial sustainability objectives to include systems like WELL and Fitwel, which are focused on occupant wellness, and more stringent certification platforms by the International Future Institute (ILFI) that delve deeper into the vision of what a sustainable building can look like.
