VG Founder Drew Shula Speaks at AIA-LA COTE 2°C Symposium

On March 1, AIA Los Angeles’ Committee on the Environment hosted the 2°C Symposium, a forum for national leaders in the architectural design and building industries to share sustainability strategies and inspirations.

Named in reference to the Paris Climate Agreement’s call to keep the global average temperature no more than 2°Celsius above pre-industrial levels, the Symposium featured keynotes Kevin de León (State Senate, Emeritus), Eric Corey Freed (Morrison Hershfield), David Hertz (Skysource), Chris Luebkeman (Arup), and Anthony Brower (Gensler).

Verdical Group’s Founder, Drew Shula, led a roundtable discussion about the important roles that both education and advocacy play in mitigating climate change. He spoke about the need for both climate experts and average citizens to be prepared and willing to spread their knowledge and answer questions about global warming.

“The most important thing we can do is engage climate deniers in conversation,” said Shula. “We don’t have time to ignore them.”
