La Kretz Innovation Campus
This month, our La Kretz Innovation Campus project, became the first building to achieve both LEED v3 Platinum in New Construction & WELL v1 Gold Core and Shell certification. Our team assisted A SustainAble Production and BuroHappold with the WELL and LEED Certifications and provided Net Zero Energy Modeling for the LADWP-owned project.
The Village South at Claremont
Verdical Group is providing LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, and Fitwel Feasibility Analysis and Sustainability Consulting for The Village South at Claremont. The mixed-use development will contain 600-800 multifamily residential units and 90,000 square feet of retail/office space across seven buildings.
San Fernando Mental Health Center
Verdical Group worked with the Abbott Construction team to complete LEED Project Management, Commissioning Services, Energy Modeling, and Daylight Modeling for the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works’ San Fernando Mental Health Center project. The project successfully achieved LEED v4 BD+C Gold certification. This design-build project is a new, 15,000-square-foot, single-story mental health building.

Matt Millikin
Operations Associate
Matthew Millikin is Operations Associate at Verdical Group. Matt provides administrative, accounting, and daily operations support to keep Verdical Group working toward our mission of creating a positive environmental impact.
His passion for sustainability led him to green building. Prior to his position at Verdical Group, he managed the offices at Neil M Denari Architects. Before joining the sustainability industry, Matt spent a decade in theater management, including a tenure at the prolific LA Opera.
Kasey Hegelein
Marketing & Events Intern
As Marketing & Events Intern at Verdical Group, Kasey assists the Marketing and Events & Partnerships teams with industry research, social media, blog posts, website design, and the Net Zero Conference & Expo.
Kasey is a senior at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), studying Economics and Food Studies. She is interested in sustainable business models and improving environmental performance, and has previous experience in both event management and public relations.
Elena Sviatoslavsky
Sustainability & LEED Intern
Elena is a Sustainability & LEED Intern at Verdical Group. She supports the Project Management team on a variety of projects utilizing the LEED rating system. Elena is a student in the school of Civil & Environmental Engineering at UCLA with a special interest in green building and sustainability techniques in civil engineering.
She has internship experience in the fields of water resources and construction technology. She is passionate about high-performance-buildings and working to make the built environment a greener place.

B Lab’s B Corp Champions Retreat was hosted in Los Angeles, CA this September. Verdical was hired as a local sustainability consultant, as well as to provide logistics support and onsite staffing for the event. As a proud B Corp, this project was one of our favorites yet!
