Verdical Group’s Spring 2022 Update
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Buildings
JPL is located in Pasadena, CA. Verdical Group provided LEED v4.1 Project Management to achieve O+M EB Gold Certification for buildings 171, 202, and 241, which are collectively referred to as Materials Administration. The certification was focused on multiple operational measures, in addition to improving energy performance, water performance, transportation access, and human experience.
The process required the team to reassess some of their policies related to facility management, including purchasing, facility maintenance, and green cleaning. A waste audit was conducted in order to identify everyday waste, and a plan was put in place for its responsible disposal.

Los Angeles Valley College Academic Complex 1
Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD)’s new Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) Academic Complex 1 is an approximately 81,000-square-foot education project located in Van Nuys, CA.
The team is aiming to achieve LEED BD+C Silver certification for the design-build project. In addition to providing LEED v4 Project Management, Verdical Group is working with Pankow and QDG Architects to conduct Commissioning (Cx) Oversight, Energy Modeling (Title 24 & LEED), Daylight Modeling, and LADWP Zero by Design utility incentive management. Verdical Group has also collaborated with Pankow to complete LEED certifications for LAVC’s Valley Glen Gateway and Community Services Centerin the past.

SHELLEY SALEHZADEH
DIRECTOR, GROWTH AND CLIENT SOLUTIONS
Shelley Salehzadeh is Director, Growth and Client Solutions at Verdical Group. She is responsible for business development and specializes in helping clients focus on desired sustainability strategies and achieving their goals.
Her consultative approach and exceptional client relations skills have helped her to manage national and global contracts with clients such as Google, Apple, Survey Monkey, Verifone, Oracle, Tesla, Palo Alto Networks, and more. She graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Design Studies.
BOBBY ALMEIDA
DIRECTOR OF COMMISSIONING (Cx)
Bobby is the Director of Commissioning at Verdical Group, where he heads up all commissioning and energy auditing efforts. At Verdical Group, Bobby brings a sustainability mindset to the commissioning process, complementing our project management services. Bobby has provided commissioning services on over $2 billion worth of projects, based on total development cost.
Bobby earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California and volunteers for the USGBC-LA Long Beach Branch.
PARTNERSHIPS & EVENTS COORDINATOR
Margaret is Partnerships & Events Coordinator at Verdical Group, responsible for contributing to all of Verdical Group’s events including the Net Zero Conference. Her role includes partnership coordination, vendor management, day-of logistics, and business development.
Margaret is passionate about sustainability and prioritizes environmentally friendly and socially just solutions in each event she works on. She earned a BA in Communications from the University of Maryland, College Park.
