THE NET ZERO CONFERENCE IS STILL ON!

The Net Zero Conference  will be held on September 14 – 16, 2020 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. 

While we understand that the situation surrounding COVID-19 is rapidly changing, we are excited about the prospect of engaging in in-person interactions in the months ahead and are actively seeking abstract submissions!

The deadline to submit an abstract is 11:59 pm (PST) on Friday, April 10th, 2020.

PROJECT UPDATES
PCL Construction Los Angeles Office

Verdical Group worked with AC Martin and the PCL Construction Services team to provide LEED v4 ID+C Project Management for their Los Angeles, CA office, which is targeting Silver Certification.

Our team also provided CALGreen, LEED Fundamental, and Enhanced Commissioning.

This was a tenant improvement project for PCL’s 28,507-square-foot office space.

Facade Tectonics Institute (FTI)

Verdical Events is supporting FTI’s upcoming events, including Facades Week and the World Congress, events that showcase new opportunities for innovation in the design and delivery of building envelopes, and their Forum Series, full-day panel discussions led by local experts and focused on emerging trends and resources as they relate to the building industry and diverse urban habitats. FTI is a nonprofit organization that supports research and education for healthy buildings and building skins.

KAREN YOUNG

Senior Events Manager

A warm welcome to our newest team member, Karen Young!  

Karen Young is the Senior Events Manager at Verdical Group. She is responsible for overseeing the Events team’s goals, managing the Net Zero Conference and additional client events, and focusing on overall strategy, contracts, and partnerships.

Karen joins the team with 15 years of event planning experience, having previously worked on the Greenbuild Conference with Informa.

FRANK SCHWAMBORN

Project Manager & Energy Engineer

We’re proud to announce that Frank has joined the VG team as a Project Manager & Energy Engineer.

A licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer, Frank brings with him a background in MEPT design, the design of environmental controls for healthcare buildings, sustainability, LEED, Title 24, net zero, and energy modeling. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Boston University College of Engineering. Frank is a member of ASHRAE SoCal & USGBC-LA, where he advocates for environmental justice and grid decarbonization.

KEVIN ZHU
LEED & Sustainability Intern

Kevin has joined our team as a LEED & Sustainability Intern. He is a master’s student in the Atmosphere/Energy program of Civil Engineering Department at Stanford University. With a strong interest in energy conservation, Kevin has studied ways to leverage data-driven simulation tools to achieve energy-efficient and sustainable building designs. In the past, Kevin worked as an intern with Stanford’s facilities energy management branch and led a net zero water plumbing systems design for the 2017 Race to Zero competition.

CARTOON WATANASIRISUK

Sustainability & Business Development Intern 

As Verdical Group’s Sustainability & Business Development Intern, Cartoon Nawaphan Watanasirisuk is learning about the proposal writing process.

She also is using Salesforce to create analytical reports, researching potential growth areas for the Net Zero Conference, and completing other research projects.

She is currently a junior at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she is pursuing a double major in economics and biology & society.

ANNA YUNG

Marketing & Events Intern

Anna Yung is our Marketing & Events Intern. She is expanding her skills in social media, website development, graphic design, and research.

Passionate about cleantech, the environment, and marketing, we met Anna at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI)’s Advanced Prototyping Center (APC) Fellow Job Fair. At LACI, she focused on the advancement of the electrical vehicle industry. She recently graduated from Occidental College with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and a Minor in Urban & Environmental Policy.
