The CO2 Breakdown: Calculating Your Corporate Carbon Footprint

The CO2 Breakdown

Calculating Your Corporate Carbon Footprint

Calculating, reducing, and potentially offsetting your organization’s carbon emissions can appear to be a daunting or unapproachable task, but it need not be.

Verdical Group’s internal team conducts an annual calculation of our company’s scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. We use that data to advise our operations team on ways to reduce carbon emissions and to set new policies that can reduce our impact moving forward. This is also a service that we offer to companies as part of our ESG Consulting work.

As the world works to solve the climate crisis, all sectors are moving toward a net zero economy. In this publication, we have provided an overview of our team’s methodology to help you take the next steps. This is intended not as a one-size-fits-all guide for reaching net zero, but as a general introduction to carbon reporting and reduction to help provoke your organization’s work towards a healthier, cleaner climate and future.

You will learn about why it is important to reduce global carbon dioxide emissions; how to establish a baseline by calculating your company’s scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions; how to strategize around reducing your organization’s footprint; and how, if necessary, to choose the right carbon offsets in order to achieve net zero (or net positive!) emissions.
