Giovanna is a Sustainability Strategist and Client Solutions Manager at Verdical Group. She facilitates connections between the green building movement's most inspiring leaders to foster collaboration and create new opportunities for the design of innovative and regenerative projects. With extensive experience in architectural design and construction, business development, sustainability consulting, research, and advocacy, Giovanna understands the needs of project teams and works across disciplines to determine the most holistic strategies to achieve the team’s vision and mission. She is passionate about design for social and environmental justice because she believes that dignifying spaces empower people to become the best versions of themselves—and that when that happens, people walk together toward reconciling humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Prior to joining Verdical Group, Giovanna worked as a Manager on the Buildings Team at the International Living Future Institute, supporting project teams pursuing certifications—including The Living Building Challenge, Core Green Building, Zero Carbon, and Zero Energy. She also worked as a Designer at MASS Design Group on various sustainability strategies on the design of hospitals, memorials, and affordable housing projects throughout the North American and African continents; as a Project Manager at YouthBuild Boston on the design and construction of LEED affordable housing projects; and as the AIA 2030 Fellow with the Boston Society of Architects on the collection, analysis, and report of the AIA 2030 Challenge yearly data for the New England region. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture and Design Studies in Sustainable Building Technology at the Boston Architectural College.

Giovanna loves power tools. She converted a school bus into a solar-powered tiny house on wheels herself, and spent nearly two years living nomadically.
