OUR JOURNEY TO NET POSITIVE

In accordance with our company mission, the B Corp Climate Collective, and the AIA 2030 Design Data Exchange Commitment, we are excited to share that Verdical Group has officially offset our entire historical carbon footprint back to day one of the company’s founding in 2012, plus ten percent, going above and beyond net zero to become a carbon positive company.
This is a huge step for us, and one that we hope will inspire other companies in our industry to do the same. We’re happy to help you along with your company’s carbon reduction goals — please contact us for more information!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

JLL Irvine Office
JLL’s Irvine Office is a 34,200-square-foot commercial interiors project located in Irvine, CA. Verdical Group worked with H. Hendy Associates, JLL, and Turelk to achieve LEED v4 ID+C Project Management Gold Certification.
JLL relocated its offices to Irvine, where diverse uses are within walking distance from the site, thereby promoting walkability and community connectivity. The location is a unique campus-style business complex combining both workplace and wellness. The space is primarily composed of office areas, but also includes a large conference room and an adjacent open collaboration space and break area.
JLL demonstrated commitment and leadership by achieving the “Social Equity within the Project Team” LEED pilot credit.
Mark 302
Verdical Group’s Mark 302 project recently achieved LEED v3 BD+C Core & Shell Silver certification! The 120,00-square foot, mixed-use project, owned by Seritage Growth Properties and designed by House & Robertson Architects, is located in Santa Monica, CA.
Formerly a Sears department store, the property is being reused and transformed into a vibrant retail, office, and food complex – featuring an atrium and landscaped rooftop deck.
In addition to LEED Project Management, Verdical Group provided LEED Energy Modeling, CALGreen Commissioning, and LEED Fundamental Commissioning. We are currently working with the client to pursue Fitwel certification after conducting a Fitwel Feasibility Assessment.

Vitruvian Honors & Awards
Verdical Group was pleased to work with our longtime partner, The Facade Tectonics Institute, to deliver their inaugural Vitruvian Honors & Awards. Attendees from 9 countries joined the December 2 event virtually to celebrate outstanding achievements in the field of facade design and delivery.
Along with a keynote from Sir David King (Centre for Climate Repair, Cambridge) and a panel of the event judges, finalists in seven categories presented the details of their building projects’ facades. During the awards ceremony, an award recipient was announced in each of the categories.
Net Zero Conference
At our 8th annual Net Zero Conference in September, we had a wonderful time connecting virtually with attendees from across the globe and seeing familiar faces from the sustainability world in-person again in Los Angeles. The hybrid event provided excellent educational and networking opportunities for more than 1,000 attendees!
In case you missed it, we recently released a Transparency Report recapping the event. You can download that here.
Stay tuned for more information about NZ22, which will be hosted in person in Los Angeles next fall!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Wishing you all the best from the team at Verdical Group — we look forward to collaborating with you in the new year.
