Verdical Group Founder & Principal, Drew Shula, has joined the California State University, Los Angeles (CSU-LA) Institute for Urban Sustainability Advisory Board. The newly formed Institute seeks to advance transdisciplinary scholarship inspired by community needs in the urban sustainability space. CSU-LA is one of 23 campuses in the CSU system across the state of California. CSU-LA has enrollment of more than 27,000 students and an endowment of $29 million.

The Institute for Urban Sustainability (IUS) convenes faculty from engineering, natural and social sciences, humanities, and the arts, dedicated to a sustainable future for Los Angeles and beyond. Additionally, the Institute supports research, scholarship, and creative activities that bring the community practical benefits, and explores cultural understanding of pressing challenges. IUS has three primary goals in support of this vision: fostering faculty interaction to enhance campus research and creative activities, building relationships with partners, and helping faculty find resources for conducting research and sharing results.
